He was predeceased by : his parents, Oscar Smith and Cammie L. Dickey Smith; his former life partner Evelyn Wilson Smith; his wife Georgia Smith Smith; his daughter Monica Smith Guiffreda Reeves; and his siblings, Marley Smith, Col. C. C. Smith, Brant Smith, Hewitt Smith, Nora Smith, Lavada Smith and Mary Cleo Gunnell.

He is survived by : his son Brian; his grandchildren, Matthew Guiffreda (Lacey), Trace Smith and Lacey Smith; his great grandchildren, Kolbey Guiffreda and Laken Guiffreda; and his caregivers, Vickey Norton and Marilyn Beeson. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations be made in Mr. Bill Smith's name to Brookhaven Exchange Club.
