He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Higginbotham and Lillian Higginbotham; his wife Effie Higginbotham; his grandsons, Jay Higginbotham and Timothy Johnsey; and his brother Charles Higginbotham.
He is survived by: his children, Sam Higginbotham (Shirley), Tim Higginbotham (Wanda), Benita Johnsey (Tommy) and Beth Wicker; and his brothers, Wesley, Hilton and Carlton Higginbotham. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren.
