He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Orestes Whaley and Virgie Roberts Whaley; his sister Regina Brock; and his daughter Tammy Shoots. He is survived by: his son Josh Whaley (Amanda); his sisters, Laverne "W. K." Ezell and Doris Durr; his grandchildren, Gracie Whaley and Landon Whaley; and his close friend Melvin "Coot" Smith. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
