It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jimmie Thomas Smith of Brookhaven, Mississippi, who passed away on February 17, 2026, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George W. Smith and Ada Smith; his son Lucias Jeffrey; his granddaughter Meghan Elizabeth Smith; and his sisters, Henrietta Britt, Verlyn Vaughn and Frances Bowman.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Jackson Smith; his sons, David Jonathan Smith (Renae) and Henry Thomas Smith (Phyllis) of Brookhaven; and his grandchildren, Amanda Hartley (Russell) of Byram, Dale Smith of Georgia and Felecia Smith (Jamie) of San Antonio. He is also survived by four great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Missions of choice or First Baptist Church of Brookhaven building fund.
