He was predeceased by: his parents, James Willis Poole and Ruby Poole; his siblings, Dennis Poole, Booth Poole, Emily Poole Odom (Homer) and Iris Poole Eddy (Bill); and his niece Melinda Odom Cooley.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Calcote Poole; his children, Stennis Poole, Shannon Poole (Regina), Shawana Moak (Wayne), Sonya Calcote (Bryan) and Scott Poole (April); his siblings, Rev. Bill Poole (Carolyn) and Anna Katherine "Kitty" Poole Nowell (Ralph); his grandchildren, Carrie Moak Miller (Cody), Cole Moak, Marley Poole, Meagan Poole, Nathan Poole, Clara Barton Calcote, Miriam Calcote, Annaston Poole, Swayze Poole, Jax Poole and Ridge Poole; his great grandchildren, Caroline Miller and Clark Miller; his sisters-in-law, Patricia Lofton (Randall) and Mary Nell Poole; his aunt Wanda Poole; and his friend Jack Rutland. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 5th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church (680 Mt Zion Rd NW, Brookhaven, MS 39601). The lying in state was held on Friday, March 6th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. A celebration of life was held on Friday, March 6th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, March 6th 2026 at the Newell Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church building fund.
