It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Benjamin Nelson of Brooklyn, Mississippi, who passed away on September 11, 2025, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill Nelson and Tempie Laverne Nelson; his son Chad Nelson; and his sisters, Bobbie Hendrix and Suzan Boudreaux.
He is survived by: his wife Glenda O'Neal Nelson of Brooklyn; his children, Tiffany Nelson of Brooklyn, Chase Nelson (Liberty) of Brooklyn, Lauren Sanderson of Brooklyn and David Wardle of Brooklyn; his daughter-in-law Susan Nelson of Beamount; his grandchildren, Lindsey Lea (Seth), Shane Nelson, Brianna Nelson, Andy Nelson, Taylor Boner and April Rose; and his sisters, Billie Bedingfield of Houston, TX and Sandra Chandler of Petal.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 14th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Brooklyn (50 Main Ave, Brooklyn, MS 39425). A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 14th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Sunday, September 14th 2025 at the Nelson Cemetery.
