He was predeceased by: his parents, Dillard Dooley and Henrietta Daily-Dooley (Brown); and his siblings, Louise, Nezzie Mae, Willie Bell, Mevela, Lester B. and James Henry.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia Dooley; his sons, Dempster "Deon" Barton (Krasinda) of Southaven, MS, Derek Dooley (Linda) of Columbus, MS, Eric Dooley (Shumeka) of Brooksville, MS, Javar Dooley (Shalonda) of Columbus, MS and Ethan Clay of Brooksville, MS; and his sisters, Betty Brackett (Ernest) of Columbus, MS and Mary Alice Jones of Fort Washington, MD. He is also survived by seven sisters-in-law; six brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Carter's Funeral Services (200 Millers Chapel Church Rd, Macon, MS 39341). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Second Baptist Church (1080 S Oliver St, Brooksville, MS 39739). A burial was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at the Brooksville Cemetery (1884 N Oliver St, Brooksville, MS 39739).
