He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd W. Smith and Ola Williams Smith; his stepmother Brownye Garrett Smith; his son Gayle McCormick Smith; his brothers, Lloyd W. Smith, Jr. and Raymond C. Smith; and his stepbrother Billy C. Hodges.
He is survived by: his wife June Box Smith of Bruce; his children, Misty Goodson (Shane) of Bruce, Douglas G. Smith of Bruce, Brent E. Smith (Leah) of Greig, NY, Randy J. Smith (Stacy) of Bruce and Shawn T. Shepard of Bruce; his brother C. Gordon Smith (Carol) of Hot Springs, AR; and his grandchildren, Savannah Baker (Benjamin), Jaden Beth Smith, Blue Smith, Stephanie Heiderich, Sharissa Smith, Mitchell Smith, Brandon Smith, Forrest Hamilton, Hudson Hamilton, Sydney Stephan, Keegan Barfield, Sarah Erwin and Sophia Shepard. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
