He was predeceased by: his mother Penny Baker Starks; and his grandparents, Rheasa, Mary Lou Starks, Wenfred, Lavonia Baker Winnon Clark, Scott Cook, Davy Doss, Tony Easley, Bill Malone and Chris McGregor.

He is survived by: his father Larry Joe Starks of Pittsboro; his wife Julie James Stark; his children, Connor Starks of Bruce and Karman Starks of Bruce; his sister Angela Starks of Pittsboro; and his nieces, Heather Garcia (Stephen) of Banner and Taylor Castleberry.
