It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charles DeWayette Gardner of Buckatunna, Mississippi, who passed away on May 13, 2026, at the age of 56, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Charles leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.
He was predeceased by: his mother Janice Faye Jordan Gardner; his son-in-law Dustin Williams; and his stepfather Don Wolff. He is survived by: his father Charles Ted Gardner (Joanna); his daughters, Brittany Williams of Buckatunna, MS and Ellyanna Grayce Burrus of Millry, AL; his siblings, Joseph Ted Gardner, Hailey Ina Gardner and Heather Gardner; and his grandchildren, Kavie Williams, David Ringer and Kinsley Ringer.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 17th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Freeman Funeral Home (1305 Skyland Dr, Waynesboro, MS 39367). A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 18th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Zion Rest Cemetery (678 Denham Progress Rd, Buckatunna, MS 39322).
