He is survived by: his mother Consuela Mendoza of Wisconsin; his daughter Selena Mendoza of Wisconsin; his partner Turesia Dowdy of Byhalia, MS; his siblings, Gonzalo Mendoza Canelo, Efrain Mendoza Canelo, Juan Carlos Mendoza Canelo, Jose Guadalupe Mendoza Canelo of Wisconsin, Jaime Mendoza Canelo of Bryan, TX, Ana Tirado and Esther Torres; his stepson Don Dowdy, Jr.; and his close friends, Don Dowdy of Byhalia, MS and Michael Craig of Holly Springs, MS. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Serenity Funeral Home Chapel (140 N Memphis St, Holly Springs, MS 38635). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
