He was predeceased by: his wife Alma Lee Gary; his parent Thomas Gary; his daughters, Velma Sims, Myrtis Gary and Shawanda Gary; his siblings, Thomas Gary, Jr., Willie Gary, Juanita Morris and Sandra Easley; and his stepsiblings, Albert Young, Kin Young, Sallie Anderson, Rachel Seaton, Rosa Wren, Renia Pauling, Minnie Allen, Helen Booth and Mable Mayfield.
He is survived by: his son Elmer Noble Gary, Jr. (India) of Fishers, Indiana; his stepchildren, Katrina Henton of Indianapolis, Indiana and Ronald Henton, Jr. of Indianapolis; and his siblings, Annie Rollins of Toledo, Yvonne Ball of Cleveland and Kenneth Gary (Deirdre) of Indianapolis, Indiana.. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
