He was predeceased by: his parents, Annie May Presley and James Kirk Slawson; and his siblings, James Kirk "J. K." Jr., Fred, Abbie Jewel West, Elizabeth Strickland and Edna Earl Breaux.
He is survived by: his children, Candace Slawson Weathersby (Max) of Canton and Alex Slawson (Jerry) of Huntersville, NC. He is also survived by several nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, grand-nieces, great-grandnephews, and great-grand-nieces.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either the Community Animal Rescue and Adoption (CARA) Mississippi or the Mississippi Animal Rescue League.
