He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther Ricks and Eyvonne Ricks; and his niece Jessica N. Garcia (Larry Garcia II). He is survived by: his wife Susan Haygood Ricks; his children, Rondi Ricks of Canton, MS, Robert Ricks of Baton Rouge, LA, Kristin Rattray (Frank) of Mandeville, LA and Joel Cupit (Joanna) of Woodville, MS; his grandchildren, Karlynne, John Carey, Shelby, Ian and Cole; and his siblings, Layton Ricks (Susan) and Judy Garcia (Larry). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the McKneely Funeral Home - Kentwood (501 Ave G, Kentwood, LA 70444). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at the Woodland Cemetery.
