He was predeceased by: his parents, William Earl Simmons and Lessie Havard Simmons; and his wife Sue Carroll Simmons. He is survived by: his children, Rena Carter (Kerry) of Carnes, Judy Simmons of Wiggins, Lee Sullivan of McLaurin and Richard Sullivan (Robin) of Hattiesburg; his brothers, William Earl "Bill" Simmons of Wiggins, Ellis Simmons of Carnes and James Simmons of Carnes; and his grandchildren, Rena Winstead (Sean), Corey Carter (AnJanae), Kristen Carter, Crissy Burroughs (LJ), Johnathon Carter (Kirsten), Allison McLendon (Dalton) and Natalie Sullivan.
