With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Hartford Nester Sr. of Carrollton, Mississippi, born in Grenada, Mississippi, who passed away on February 24, 2024 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert James Nester and Johnnie Loutie Slawson Nester; his wife Carolyn Denton Nester; and his siblings, Larry Wayne Nester, Sr. and Evelyn Ruth Hollis.

He is survived by: his children, Mikki Chester of Greenwood, MS and Jim Nester (Melissa) of Carrollton, MS; and his siblings, Ray Nester (Norma) of Carrollton, Patricia Everett of Vaiden, MS and Linda Jackson (Dale) of Carrollton, MS. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
