She was predeceased by: her parents, Evelyn Clolinger Gentry and Willie Gentry; her brother Lane Gentry; and her grandson Jayden Adams. She is survived by: her husband Erwin Houston; her daughters, Shannon Vanderpoel (Joey) of Charleston, MS, Shay Houston (Ryan) of Elliott, MS and Bethany Adams (Scott) of Charleston, MS; her sister Teresa Byars; and her grandchildren, Gabriel Vanderpoel, Lane Vanderpoel, Sheleigh Vanderpoel, Riley Cole, Will Adams and Kylie Adams.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Womble Funeral Home (190 S Church St, Charleston, MS 38921-2201). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial contributions to assist with final expenses.
