Rosalyn Starnes Obituary

With sadness, we share the passing of Rosalyn Starnes (Chunky, Mississippi). Rosalyn, born on November 29, 1942, passed away on September 6, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Daniel Fore Jay Sr. and Lillie Leo Adams Jay; her son Wilton "Jay" Starnes; her husband Sidney Alfred Starnes Sr. "Sid"; and her siblings, William "Bill" Jay, Daniel Fore Jay Jr. and Lillian Jay Hardwell.

She is survived by: her son Sidney Alfred Starnes Jr. "Fred" of Brandon, MS; her grandchildren, Abigail Blackwell of Starkville, MS and Ashton Starnes of Brandon, MS; her great grandchild Baylor Claire Vick of Starkville, MS; her siblings-in-law, Johnny Hardwell of Braxton, MS and Frances Jay of Benton, AR; and her friend Chalmette High. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Honaker Funeral Home (1751 Gause Blvd W, Slidell, LA 70469). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Chunky Cemetery (465 Adams St, Chunky, MS 39323).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Ridge Memorial Baptist Church, 55115 Apple Pie Ridge Rd. Slidell, LA 70461.
