He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Walét Hymel and Rosemary Dupuis Hymel. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Lyon Hymel of Clarksdale, MS; his children, Paul Lyon Hymel (Janel) of Oxford, MS, David Ashley Hymel (Valerie) of Metairie, LA, Lisa Hymel Schlesinger (Greg) of Mandeville, LA and Jonathan Mark Hymel of Covington La; his grandchildren, Gregory Schlesinger, Jr., Priscilla Schlesinger, Kaela Hymel and Joshua Hymel; and his brother-in-law Rick Lyon (Pat) of Tylertown, MS.. He is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home (314 E 2nd St, Clarksdale, MS 38614). A memorial service was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude in memory of Rachel Elizabeth Lyon or donor's choice.
