She was predeceased by : her parents, J. D. Sherwood and Willie Rebecca Peterson Sherwood; her husband Homer Ballard, Sr.; and her siblings, Mable Byrd and Jerry Sherwood.

She is survived by : her son Homer Ballard, Jr. (Ginger); her grandsons, David Ballard and William Podraza; her great grandchildren, Max Ballard, Haley Ballard, Madison Ballard, Logan Podraza and Keirah Podraza; her sister-in-law Charlotte Sherwood; her nephew Jeff Byrd; her nieces, Belinda Thomas and Regina Thorsen; her great-niece Aldan Byrd; and her great-nephews, Jackson, Joe Byrd, Russell Quinton and Sammy Byrd.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Ray Funeral Home (206 Bishop Rd, Cleveland, MS 38732). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the North Cleveland Cemetery.
