We are sad to announce that on November 16, 2025, at the age of 70, Janet Butler of Cleveland, Mississippi passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid adieu to Janet's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Janet has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Harrison Byrd and Mary Frances Gladwell Byrd; her daughter Anita Butler; and her brother William Byrd, Jr.. She is survived by: her daughter Barbara Butler Brooks (Jamie) of Cleveland, MS; her sister Geraldine Hollings (David) of Cleveland, MS; and her grandchildren, Jermece Brooks (Desirae), Savannah Brooks (Gilbert), Alonzo Brooks (Samantha) and Jalyn Brooks (Isabella). She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 20th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Cleveland Funeral Home (3463 MS-8, Cleveland, MS 38732). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, November 20th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, November 20th 2025 at the Beulah Cemetery.
