He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Wells and Mary Lee Scott Wells. He is survived by: his wife Lottie Mae Daniels; his grandchildren, Tina L. Garner, Cleophus Wells, Jr. (Latressia Wells), John Lane Freeman, III, Tammie L. Wells, Deborah L. Archer, Kerrington Wells, Charles Q. Archer (Meghan Archer), Taylor D. Williams, Austin Johnson and Malcolm Ayden Johnson; his great grandchildren, Keeyonna James, Ayona Pickens, London Pickens, DeAntae Johnson, DeAndre Johnson, Cherri Garner, Candy Garner, Corey Garner, Chantee Garner, Avery Archer and Journee Clemons; his great great grandchildren, Lailah King, Aeryn King and Kaori Lewis; his siblings-in-law, John Hodge, Curtis Daniels, Jr., Johnny Daniels, Kehinde Ashcroft, Ruthie Daniels, Childa Kincaid, Peggy Stanton, Bonette Ashcroft and Shernnie Daniels; and his child Church. He is also survived by his wife, their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 30th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Willis and Sons Funeral Home (5235 Robinson Rd, Jackson, MS 39204). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at 9:00 AM at the Pine Grove M. B. Church (10651 US 49, Jackson, MS 39209).
