He was predeceased by: his parents, E. G. Hoover and Frances Hoover; and his brother Jim. He is survived by: his wife Linda Hoover; his daughters, Jennifer Deaton (Scott), Stephanie Ruple and Melinda Watson (Daniel); his grandchildren, Brooke, Nathan, Kristin, Linda Rose, Isaac and Eli; and his siblings, Margaret, Dennis and Pam. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Heart Association or the Gary Sinise Foundation in John's memory.
