He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret Johnson Forbes and Reverend M. Belton Buckley; his daughters, Viveca Buckley and Kim Haley; and his siblings, Jesse Forbes Jr., Ernest Forbes, Leon Forbes, Glen Forbes, Samuel Buckley and Vonnie Gentry.
He is survived by: his daughters, Opal Buckley, Trina McNair, Tina Haley, Cathyn Haley and Latarsha Haley; his siblings, Frank Forbes, George Buckley, Ada Forbes, Bobbie Jean Forbes, Mamie Forbes, Dorothy Buckley, Celestine Buckley and Sarah Jarrett; and his grandchildren, Trystyn Buckley, Alexis Foster, Shardae Mardin, Johann Haley, Laquita Mardin, Bernard Alexander, Janika Alexander, Christopher Draper, Alvin Haley, Cira Williams and Ebony Williams.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 23rd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Smith Mortuary (851 W Northside Dr, Clinton, MS 39056). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Wells Grove M. B. Church (1367 Williamson Rd, Clinton, MS 39056).
