He was predeceased by: his parents, James Joy and Elizabeth Joy; his wife Beverly Conner; his siblings, JoAnne, Bob, Leda and Carolyn; and his close friend Martha.
He is survived by: his children, Stanley Joy (Donna) and Sharyn Thornton (Larry); his siblings, Maurice Joy (Patti), Nita Blanchard and Wayne Joy (Debbie); and his grandchildren, Sean Thornton (Fallon Stephens), Nicole Joy and James Thornton.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 23rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, May 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home - Clinton (106 Cynthia St, Clinton, MS 39056). A memorial service was held on Saturday, May 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
