He was predeceased by: his parents, Ottis Merrell and Dollie Molene Anglin Brown. He is survived by: his wife Thelma Landreth Brown; his children, Michelle Brown Kendall (Bobby) of Coffeeville, Jessica Brown Davis (Corey) of Columbia, Joseph Brown of Water Valley and Daniel Brown (Hallie) of Nesbit; his brothers, Larry Brown (Gloria) of Paris, James Brown (Paula) of Southaven and William Brown of Bruce; his grandchildren, Ashley Fancher, Raeleigh Davis, Corey J. Davis, Sadie Belle Davis, Kaylee Brown, Kyle Brown, Megan Bryant, Michael Montgomery, Malachi Dyer and Micah Dyer; and his pet Dovie. He is also survived by great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
