He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Archie Floate and Lottie Mae Floate; his grandsons, Michael Shayne Massey (Jessie) and James Tyler Massey (Chrissy); his great grandchildren, Scarlett Danae Massey, Ellie James Massey and Emma Grace Massey; and his siblings, Joyce English, Earnestine Edlin, Frances Smart, Mary Ellen Wells, Sara Lee, Dorothy Smith, Charlotte Bowlan, Jerry Floate, Stanley Floate and Allen Floate.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church (9290 MS-306, Coldwater, MS 38618). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at the Cathey Cemetery.
