He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Burt and Roberta Sumrall Burt; and his siblings, Gene Burt and Linda Watts. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Morris Burt of Columbia, MS; his children, Joey Burt (Julie) of Waveland, MS and Jani Purvis of Hazelhurst; his grandchildren, Megan Fasick (David), Jeremy Burt, Jessica Purvis and Jenna Purvis; and his great grandchildren, Savannah Fasick and Grayson Fasick.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Hathorn Funeral Home (167 Hwy 198, Columbia, MS 39429). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Improve Baptist Church Cemetery (2979 MS-44, Columbia, MS 39429).
