He was predeceased by: his parents, Anderson Tate, Sr. and Anna Tate of Washington; and his brother Rufus Lee Tate. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Witherspoon Tate; his children, Quincy Lavender (Danielle) of Columbus, MS, Deandre Johnson of Columbus, MS, Anderson Tate III of Columbus, MS and Natalie Tate of Columbus, MS; his siblings, Margaret Hill (Terry) of Conyers, GA, Shirley Williams (Hilbert) of Columbus, MS, Johnny (Catherine) of Chicago, IL and Frederick Tate (Jackie) of Columbus, MS; and his close friends, Veola Gibbs and Vantee Summerville. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other friends.
