She is survived by: her children, Harold Gladstone Atkins and Maurine Morris Atkins; her husband Ed Prescott; her sons, Rex Prescott (Jen) of Columbus, MS and Ricky Prescott (Dana) of Scottsboro, AL; her brothers, Ed Atkins (Joan) and Donald Atkins (Nancy); her grandchildren, Meredith Greenhaw (Allen), Blake Prescott (Chelsea), Brittney Kyles (Dale) and Darby Plowman (Dylan); her great grandchildren, Brantley Prescott, Reagan Greenhaw, Cale Greenhaw, Braylen Griffith, Addy Prescott, Eloise Kyles, Oliver Kyles, Hayes Plowman and Houston Plowman; and her close friend Mae Hairston. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church, 3044 Wolfe Road, Columbus, MS, 39705.

“Anna Katherine has been a friend for many years. She worked in surgery with my Aunt Neva Stokes, when I was a child. I loved spending time with her. Then I married David Ashmore, and he was friends with her brothers. So it goes. I'm praying for comfort and peace for her family.”
