She was predeceased by: her parents, Elisha Crusoe and Rachel Crusoe; her stepfather Charlie Hallman; her husband Henry; and her siblings, Elisha Crusoe (Julia), Eddie Crusoe, Jimmy Earl, Lillie Henry (Pierre) and Cleveland Crusoe (Hattie).

She is survived by: her sisters, Katie Jones (Robert) and Queen Kidd (late Howard); her sisters-in-law, Sadie Crusoe (late Eddie) and Lenora Crusoe; and her children, Melvin Smith (Sarah), Patricia, Brenda Wilson, Marquitta Smith, E. Donell Smith (Yolanda) and LaJuanda Pittman (Larry). She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.

She faithfully served as the superintendent of Northside's Sunday School until the pandemic paused church services.
