She was predeceased by: her parents, Bruce Hood and Nina Mae Moore Hood; her husband James E. Oswalt; her son Chris Ervin Oswalt; her siblings, J. D. Hood, Copal Hood and Oretta Bigham; and her brothers-in-law, Robert Oswalt (Joan), Billy Oswalt and Willie Ray Oswalt.
She is survived by: her children, Ronnie Oswalt (Doylene) of Columbus, MS and Gayla Butler (Thurston) of Columbus, MS; her grandchildren, Summer Walker (Alan), Jamie Bishop (Josh) and Lauren Moorman (Cole); her great grandchildren, Claire Walker, Charlie Walker, Laina Bishop, Joshua Bishop, Carter Bishop and Lettie Bishop; and her siblings-in-law, Terry Oswalt (Mona) of Harrison, AR, Linda Fultz of Brandon, MS and Lawanda Oswalt of Lake City, GA. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Mount Zion Church (1791 Lake Lowndes Rd, Columbus, MS 39702). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
