He was predeceased by: his parents, Hubert Barnhill, and Bettye Anders Barnhill, Sr.; and his daughter Haley Barnhill. He is survived by: his wife Gail Brown Barnhill; his grandchildren, Tyson Talley and Makiya Barnhill; and his siblings, Hubert Barnhill, Jr., Harry Barnhill (Joan), Patsy Hedrick (Gary), Vicky Williamon (Bennie) and Barbara Buxton (Bily). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law, and brothers-in -law.
