He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth Burkart and John Burkart; and his brother John Burkart. He is survived by: his wife Anne Gillis Burkart; his children, Cheryl Burkart Burnette (Georgia) of Decatur, Glenn Charles Burkart (Allison) of Escondido and Perry Gillis Burkart of Memphis; his grandsons, Andrew Burnette and Matthew Burnette (Kelsey); and his great grandchildren, Daphne and Matilda.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Lowndes Funeral Home (1131 Lehmberg Rd, Columbus, MS 39702). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fairview Baptist Music Ministry.
