It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Katherine Downing Batson of Columbus, Mississippi, born in Laurel, Mississippi, who passed away on March 28, 2023, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father James Young; and her brothers, James Downing and Lee Downing. She is survived by: her husband Dr. Frank O. "Mike" Batson, Jr. of Columbus, MS; her daughters, Megan Batson Sipes (Jim) of Charleston, SC and Allyson Batson Amos (Marc) of Columbus, MS; her grandchildren, Sloan Amos, Mallory Amos and Abby Amos; and her nieces and nephews, Amanda Arender, Melissa Sullivan, Mischa Marlowe, Lee Downing and Rusty Gross.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105, or to the donor's favorite charity.
