He is survived by: his wife Bessie Williams Hallman of Columbus, MS; his children, Keith Jethrow of Memphis, TN, Derico Howard (Christina) of Columbus, MS, Crystal Howard of El Paso, TX, Jan Cheeks (Walter Jr.) of Douglasville, GA and Lenell Watts of Columbus, MS; and his siblings, Martha Harris (McArthur) of Columbus, MS, Jewel D. Jones of Columbus, MS, Johnny R. Hallman of Columbus, MS and Charles D. Hallman of Columbus, MS. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 21st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Carter's Funeral Services - Columbus (602 14th St N, Columbus, MS 39701). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 22nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Maranatha Faith Center (716 Waterworks Rd, Columbus, MS 39701). A burial was held on Saturday, November 22nd 2025 at the Wicks Memorial Gardens (176 S Frontage Rd, Columbus, MS 39701).
