It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nellie O'Neal Brewer of Columbus, Mississippi, who passed away on November 15, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James David O'Neal, Sr. and Bertha Ann Petty O'Neal; her husband Howard Lee Brewer; and her siblings, James D. O'Neal, Jr., Cleveland O'Neal, Logan O'Neal, Jack O'Neal, Charlie O'Neal, Mariah Jones and Daisy Mae O'Neal Longstreet.
She is survived by: her daughters, Nedra Ann Brewer Smith and Cansandra Lasha Brewer Cox (Patrick); her grandchild Davius Rashad Smith; her great grandchildren, Maddox Reed Smith of Columbus, Mississippi, Jaxon Rashad Smith of Columbus, Mississippi and Milan Reese Smith of Columbus, Mississippi; and her sisters-in-law, Currie Fisher of Columbus, MS and Johnnie Mae Brewer of Columbus, MS. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
