She was predeceased by: her parents, Orlean Dodson and Johnnie Smith; her former husband Charles Thomas; her husband Ben Owen; and her caregiver Elizabeth Payne.
She is survived by: her son-in-law Tim Cox; her pet Penny; her daughter Tricia Cox (Tim); her cousins, David Dodson and Russell Dodson; and her caregivers, Jean Armistead, Logan Buchanan, Laura Gentile, Sissy McCoy, Maddy Stobaugh, Laura Miller, Brittany Edwards, Shaye Bennett and Moneika Swift.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Lowndes Funeral Home (1131 Lehmberg Rd, Columbus, MS 39702). A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Friendship Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Columbus-Lowndes Humane Society, 50 Airline Road, Columbus, MS 39702 or to a charity of your choice.
