It is with sadness that the passing of Peggy Barksdale of Columbus, Mississippi is shared. Peggy, born on October 31, 1940, passed away on October 21, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Travis T. Barksdale; her grandson Allen Travis Haynes; her siblings, Patricia Rast and Larry Harris, Sr.; and her parents, C. F. Harris, Sr. and Edna Earl Hollingsworth.
She is survived by: her children, Ronald Barksdale (Judy), Donald Barksdale, Sr. (Vicki), Steve Barksdale (Carol), Chris Barksdale (Beth), Susan Denton (Harold) and Tracie Hanson (Joey); her grandchildren, Brandie Barksdale, Donald Barksdale, Jr. (Becca), Blake Barksdale (Nicole), Lesley Barksdale Bailey, Nicholas Miller (Ashley), Summer Walker (Alan), Jamie Bishop (Joshua), Casey Anderson (Nick), Tayler Frye, Justin Barksdale, Trey Barksdale, Taylor Cox (Corey), Teresa Haynes and Allee Kate Weathers; and her siblings, Nancy J. Lowe (Dale), C. F. Harris, Jr. (Camille), Shirley Stanley (Charles), Donna Garner (Bill) and Jen Prescott (Rex). She is also survived by 37 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory (716 2nd Ave N, Columbus, MS 39701). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Memorial Funeral Home Chapel (716 2nd Ave N, Columbus, MS 39701).
