We are sad to announce that on September 24, 2023, at the age of 95, Roland Wilkes Carter of Columbus, Mississippi, born in Louisville, Mississippi passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Kilburn Carter and Pearl Carter of Louisville, MS.; his wife Jean Carter; and his sister Dorothy Ann Clark. He is survived by: his children, Glenn Carter (Ginga) of Columbus, MS and Karen Bowers of Columbus, MS; his grandchildren, Justin Carter (Jenny), Melissa Carter Johnson (Sean) and Malory Bowers Stratton (Alex); his great grandchildren, Hollis, Mabry, Wilkes, Aydan, Lawson and Kaiden; and his sister-in-law Barbara Lott of Petal, MS.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Fairview Baptist Church, 127 Airline Road, Columbus, MS 39702.
