He was predeceased by: his wife Melba Agee Shipman; his parents, Leo Shipman and Merle Shipman; and his siblings, Robbie Lee Stephenson and John Will Shipman.

He is survived by: his children, Pamela Shipman Jordan (Bobby), Steven Douglas Shipman and Scott Allen Shipman (Adrian); his grandchildren, Lindsey Shipman Ashcraft (Brent), Cody Douglas Shipman, Bella Scott Shipman, Paul Wells Shipman, Taylor Ann Bunger (Derek) and Benjamin Douglas Jordan; and his great grandchildren, Amelia Jean Bunger, Beau Allen Bunger, Riggs Michael Ashcraft and Christopher Rowan Ashcraft (Liz Hawkins Burt).

Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Pate-Jones Funeral Home (4174 Hwy 51 S, Senatobia, MS 38668). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Lacey Cemetery.

He was a loving caregiver to her as she battled Parkinson's disease for over 20 years.
