She was predeceased by: her husband Basil Smith; her parents, Gilbert Hilliard and Louise Hilliard; and her sister Joyce DePriest. She is survived by: her children, Gena Black, Royce Askew, Jr., Richie Ryan Askew and Lorian Scott; her grandchildren, Stephanie Black, Bethanie Nelson, Amy Lucero, Andrew Black, Christopher Askew, Molly Beth Cupples, Rebecca Askew, Jordan Vess, Chloe Lindsey, Jackson Lindsey, Weston Lindsey, Joshua Askew and Kayla Askew; her great grandchildren, Olive Nelson, Nolan Smith, Vaida Nelson, Cameron Cupples, Chandler Cupples and Robbie Vess; and her siblings, Rue Truth, Wayne Hilliard and Frienda Robertson.
