He was predeceased by: his siblings, Lew Dawson and Stan Baskette; and his mother Adelaide Ray. He is survived by: his wife Tammie Ray; his sons, Aaron Ray (Emma) and William Ray (Andee); his grandson Mason Ray; his siblings, Lona Roberts (late Victor M. Roberts), Dan Ray (late Polly Ray), Otis Ray (Sheryll), Jenny Dawson Baskette, Martha Magee (Rick), Patricia Palmertree (Byron) and Rachel Ray; his mother-in-law Lois Glidwell Streetman (late Darnell Glidwell); his sister-in-law Sandie Nix; and his caregiver Heather Williams. He is also survived by 17 nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 27th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Oakland Baptist Church (1101 S Harper Rd, Corinth, MS 38834). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 27th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Oasis Medical Center, Gideon Bibles, or Oakland Baptist Church.
