He was predeceased by : his parents, Fred Hawthorne and Velma Black Roberts; and his brother Harold Roberts. He is survived by : his wife Mary Ann Roberts; and his children, Heather Nelms (Shawn), Stefani Gray (Rick), Lauren Peters (Tyler), Tammy Buckner, Greg Roberts and Wendell Roberts (Amy).

Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 14th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Magnolia Funeral Home - East (2024 US-72, Corinth, MS 38834).
