We announce the death of Gene Baker of Corinth, Mississippi, who passed away on July 16, 2026, at the age of 83. Gene will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Henry and Bertha Meeks Baker; his wife Luree Samples Baker; his significant other Eunice Fugate; and his siblings, Roy Baker, J. B. Baker, Jimmie Baker, Mildred Teague, Annie Dickerson, Jewell Holliday, Merle Kennedy and Docia Freeman.
He is survived by: his sister Linda Sappington. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
