He was predeceased by: his son Shawn Spain; his grandchildren, Manuel Spain and Amanda Spain; his parents, Joseph Spain and Hattie Keen Spain; and his siblings, David Simms, Ruby Simms and Ruth Mackey.
He is survived by: his children, Antoinette Robles (Mario), Rosemary Spain, William Spain (Ann) and Ronald Spain (Jillian); his grandchildren, Mario Robles (Allison), Tabitha Strezo (David), Arthur Robles (Jessica), Michael Robles (Kelly), Samantha Spain, Daniel Herilhy, Sasha Spain, Beth Ann Spain, Stephanie Spain, Shawn Spain, Jr. and Lukas Spain; his sister Irene Vickner; and his close friend Christine Bobo. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren.
Sadly as time passed, the mental and physical destruction caused by Alzheimer's, Dementia, Parkinsons and Diabetes he needed fulltime care.
