We bid farewell to Lawanda Burns of Corinth, Mississippi, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on May 23, 2026 at the age of 85. She was predeceased by: her parents, Tom Moody and Ila Moody; her husband Billy Clyde Burns; her brother Ronald Moody; her niece Vickey Williams Hayes; and her great-nephew Justin Williams.
She is survived by: her son Alan Burns (Tammy) of Tupelo; her granddaughter Scarlett Williams of Atlanta; and her brother Scott Moody. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and their children.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 26th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Memorial Funeral Home (613 Bunch St, Corinth, MS 38834). A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, May 27th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, May 27th 2026 at the Shiloh Presbyterian Cemetery.
While flowers are appreciated, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association in honor of LaWanda Burns and in support of ongoing Alzheimer's research and caregiver assistance programs.
