He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Oaks and Jennie Lee Doll Oaks; and his siblings, Jack Oaks, Joe Oaks, Mack Oaks, Dock Oaks, Pete Oaks, Jim Oaks, Lonnie Oaks, Betty Vanderford and Mary Alice Oaks.
He is survived by: his children, Jason Oaks (Glenda), Tammy Owen (Paul) and Mary Anne Reedy (Nooner); his brother Roy Oaks; and his close friend Michael McCarter (Alisha). He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren.
