She was predeceased by : her husband Harold McAlpin; and her parents, Jodie Rutledge and Ida Melissa Rutledge. She is survived by : her children, Retha Mayfield (Ronnie), Linda Howard (Glenn), Larry McAlpin (Cindy) and Janie Taylor (Robbie). She is also survived by eight grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren.
