She was predeceased by : her parents, Sarah M. Brown and Rufus Brown, Sr., her brother Edwin, and her granddaughter Marissa Thornton. She is survived by her grandchildren, Sarah, Nikki, Tony, Cody, Christian, Jason, Joshua, Haley, Heather, MaryBeth and Curt; 8 great grandchildren; her husband Steve Covington; her children, Jimmy Thornton (Krysti), Wayne Thornton (Pam), Phillip Thornton (Tawanna) and Darlene Teasley (Ricky); and her siblings, Milton Brown, Rufus Brown, Jr. and Helen Moore.
